All
Homework Problems will be collected and graded. The Homework assigned during
a week is due on Wednesday of the following week. Late homework is generally
NOT
ACCEPTED. At the end of the course two of your lowest weekly
homework grades are dropped.
The dividing lines (in % out of 100%) for the exam grades will
be:
| A+ | A | A- | B+ | B | B- | C+ | C | C- | D+ | D | D- | F |
| 93-100 | 90-92 | 86-89 | 83-85 | 80-82 | 76-79 | 73-75 | 65-72 | 60-64 | 57-59 | 54-56 | 47-53 | 0-46 |
For the 1-st exam the median score was 75.5 and
the mean score was 69.6
For the 2-nd exam the median score was 85 and the mean
score was 80
There
will be three one-hour exams during the semester. At the end of the term
the lowest hourly exam grade is dropped. The two remaining grades contribute
a maximum of 100 points each towards your course total (about 17%
each).
The
final exam contributes a maximum of 200 points to the course total
(about 35%).
The
homework counts as at most 100 points of your course total (about 17%).
The
quizzes contribute a maximum of 75 points to your course total (about
13%).
Thus
your maximum course total is 100+100+200+100+75=575 points. Your course
total will determine your final grade for the course.
A
modest number of "extra credit" points may be assigned for active class
participation.
For
each of the midterm exams and for the final exam you are allowed to use:
