final exam has been graded and the grades have been posted via Score Reports.
You will also see your course grade there. The points were rescaled to
a maximum total of 571 points and the letter-grade cut-off levels are shown
in the table below. There were 9 As, 31 Bs, 26 Cs and
2 Fs among the course grades. The average score on the final
exam was 152/200; the median score was 155/200.
I will be away untill Tuesday,
May 18. I will hold office hours on Tuesday, May 18, 2-4pm. You can
come and take a look at your final exam then.

office hours are Monday and Tuesday, 4:00pm-5:30pm. You DO NOT
need to tell me in advance if you want to see me during the office hours.

The FINAL EXAM for this course is scheduled for 8:00-11:00
AM, Saturday, May 8 in our regular classroom. If this time is not good
for you, you need to change your registration right now. Keep in
mind that I will not entertain any requests for "conflict" final exams
from people who do not have what the university officially recognizes as
a "conflict". See

How
this course is graded and administered:
-
Homeworks will count 20% of the grade.
-
There will be 5 quizzes, 15 minutes each, during the semester.
They will count 5% of the grade.

There will be two midterm exams, each counting 20% of
the grade.

The final exam will count 35% of the grade.

Homeworks are collected each Wednesday. You can turn them
in either in class or by 4pm on Wednesday in the envelope on the door of
my office. Late h/work will not be accepted, unless you have made
prior arrangements with me before the due date. Exceptions can be made
in cases of well-documented emergencies and illnesses.

At the end of the semester two lowest h/work scores are
dropped.

I will give you make-up quizzes and midterms, but again
only in exceptional cases.

The final exam is cumulative and is scheduled for 8:00-11:00

How to
interpret the scores for the first midterm. Although I did not
assign formal letter grades for this exam, the approximate cut-off levels
are:
A: 87-100
B: 75-86
C: 60-74
D: 50-59
F: 0-49
Keep in
mind that this info is for orientation purposes only. The cut-off levels
for the 2-nd midterm, for the final exam and for the course itself will
be somewhat different, depending on the difficulty of the forthcoming exams.
Also, the final course grades will include + and - letter grades.
How to
