On the conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer for elliptic curves, by Cristian D. Gonzalez-Aviles

This paper has appeared in Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. and so the dvi version has been removed. In this paper we prove the full Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture for a large class of elliptic curves with complex multiplication by Q(\sqrt{-7}). The methods used are those of Rubin, but a significant amount of additional technical work is needed as well to handle the troublesome prime 2.
