Abstract by Prof. Wesley Seitz

Task Force on Graduate Education.

Dean Seitz will discuss the current status of the work of this Task Force. An Interim Report was distributed (as an insert to Inside Illinois) last September, and copies of this document will be available in the Department Office before this Forum takes place. For a number of topics the proposals in the Interim Report are in essentially final form and Seitz will tell us what is being done to implement them. Work continues on other topics, such as stipends and duties of graduate students, a system of evaluating the quality of graduate programs, and student participation in decision making processes. All interested graduate students and faculty are welcome.
