What is Industrial Mathematics
This talk will explain what we call "industrial mathematics", and how it diifers from traditional Applied Mathematics on the one hand, and from Engineering Sciences on the other hand. We shall give examples of mathematical problems that emerged from industry, Finally we shall describe the industrial mathematics program at the University of Minneesota with its Masters and Ph.D. degrees.
