Aspects of Elimination Theory
David Eisenbud is Director of MSRI, President of the American Mathematical Society, and a Professor at the University of California at Berkeley. His talks will be held March 16 "I. Resultants, from 1693 to now"; March 17 "II. Exterior algebra methods in algebraic geometry"; and March 18 "III. Instant elimination, and torsion in symmetric algebras.
