A little-discussed, but crucial, aspect of ethical professional conduct has to do with the unwritten, but very real, "rules" about having disputes.
When confronted with conduct of a your colleagues or supervisors that concerns you, especially if it has an ethical dimension, such as differences about
attribution and credit or the integrity of scholarly work, it is essential for preserving your own professional standing and career prospects to know about these
"rules" and know how to apply them.
