Linear system has always played a central role in the study of algebraic varieties. We are interested in what kind of linear systems will map a variety into a projective space. We would like to learn about the geometry of the variety from the properties of the linear systems and the equations defining the varieties. In recent years, new methods from vector bundles and vanishing theorems have provided better understanding to some of these questions.Additional References:
