On the Karoubi filtration of a category, by Manuel Cardenas and Erik K. Pedersen

In this paper we give a new proof of the theorem of Pedersen and Weibel establishing a fibration of spectra K(A) -> K(U) -> K(U/A), when U is an A-filtered additive category in the sense of Karoubi. This fibration implies almost all excision results in controlled algebra. The proof is based on Waldhausens S.-construction. For related papers see http://math.binghamton.edu:80/erik
