Recent progress in algebraic K-theory and its relationship with topology and analysis, by Jonathan Rosenberg

These are notes from a mini-course for the Summer Research Conference in K-theory in Seattle, July, 1997. The notes are intended to provide a quick survey of two different areas:

  1. Assembly, Novikov Conjectures, and Control
  2. K-Theory, Secondary Invariants, and Differential Geometry

I apologize for the very informal nature of these notes and the fact that the bibliography is very incomplete. The dvi file calls a small postscript file called Euclid1.ps which you should download also. Alternatively, you could download the comprehensive postscript file, Seattle_notes.ps.
