MacOSX
See the file README-Download for installation instructions. When the fink
version of Macaulay2 is available (soon), the instructions in README-Fink
will apply.
Here are some solutions for some common problems that occur when running
under MacOS. If you have any other problems, or these solutions do not work for you, please let us know.

Under Leopard (MacOS 10.5), downloaded disk image files are
"quarantined". Because of this, each time you use viewHelp on a topic
(e.g. viewHelp "Ideal") inside Macaulay2, for some reason the system
warns you that you are about to open an application (which is not
true). The solution: In a Terminal window, in the same folder as your
downloaded disk image (e.g. Macaulay2-1.1-x86_64-MacOS-10.5.dmg), run
the following command: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine Macaulay2-1.1-x86_64-MacOS-10.5.dmg, and then double click on the disk image, and copy to your disk, etc, as in the readme instructions.
Here are the downloadable disk images.
