Note about MacOS :

You may need to change the amount of memory that the "MPW Shell" requires.
     We have it set to around 150 MB.  If you have more or less memory,
     you will probably want to change it to something less than the amount
     of physical memory you have.

You may need to download the following if you don't already have it:
     1. Stuffit Expander 5, from 
	     http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/expander_mac_login.html
	(version 4.5 can't unpack our archive)

You should download this:
     2. The Macaulay2 program files for the Macintosh, the following:
	     Macaulay2-*-PPC-MacOS.sit
	Here * represents the most recent Macaulay 2 version number.
	After downloading, read the included "Read Me" file.  If there
	is any problem unstuffing the files, let us know immediately so
	we can fix it.

The documentation is not included above, so you'll have to download it
	separately.
     3. The documentation, one of these:
	     Macaulay2-*-book.pdf
	     Macaulay2-*-book.ps
	     Macaulay2-*-book.dvi
