Accommodations

Accommodations for Stochastic Processes Lodging options include the Hampton Inn, Hawthorne Suites, and rooms in a University of Illinois Residence Hall. Shuttle busses will be running between these hotels and the conference site on campus.

Attendees who wish to stay in local hotels are responsible for making their own room reservations. If you wish to stay in a dormitory room on the University of Illinois campus, information is located at the bottom of this page, and you must indicate your preferences on the conference registration form. University housing policy does not allow individuals to make their own dormitory room reservations.

The Hampton Inn of Urbana:

The Hampton Inn Champaign-Urbana is located adjacent to the University of Illinois campus. The hotel is at the north end of campus, across from Beckman Institute, and 3 blocks from the Computer Science and Engineering campuses. It is located 3 blocks north of Illini Union and Altgeld Hall (math building), 1 mile from downtown Champaign and 1 mile from Downtown Urbana. It is 1.5 miles from Interstate 57, 6 miles from Willard Airport and 1 mile from the Train Depot in downtown Champaign.

Amenities include complimentary deluxe breakfast bar, complimentary airport shuttle service (9am-9pm Monday thru Friday), TV with cable, HBO and pay-per-view movies, indoor swimming pool and hot tub, and on-site exercise facility. All hotel rooms include a coffeemaker, iron, ironing board and hair dyer. Refrigerators, microwaves and rollaway beds are available for a nominal fee. Copies of USA Today are available Monday-Friday. Each room contains one king bed with a pullout sofa or two queen beds. All rooms are non-smoking. For this conference block there are 10 rooms with the king bed/sofa configuration and 30 rooms with 2 queen beds available. Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is noon. Conference participants arriving prior to 3:00 p.m. will be given access to their room based on availability of vacant and clean rooms.

Room rates are: Single or Double: $94.00 plus tax (currently 11% per room per night) Reservations at this conference rate must be made by June 20, 2007. After June 20, 2007 the room block will be dropped and rooms will no longer be available. Reservations made after the room block is dropped will be honored based on availability and may be at a higher room rate.


Hawthorn Suites of Champaign:

This recently renovated hotel features spacious studio suites with pillow-top mattresses and efficiency kitchens, an indoor heated pool and hot tub, access to exercise facilities, an on-site guest laundry and valet service. Hotel guests enjoy a daily complimentary hot breakfast buffet each morning, and can take advantage of our evening lounge nightly. Business travelers will enjoy the in-room business services, which feature an oversized work area complete with data port, high-speed Internet, personal voice mail and daily complimentary newspaper. Be sure to mention that you are attending the Stochastics conference when making your room reservation and give the reservation clerk either the group name or group code or both. The Group Name is "Stochastics"; Group Code is "STO".

Make your reservations early - all reservations must be made by the drop date listed for each hotel. Please keep in mind that after that date the hotel rooms will be released and available only on a space-available basis, and may be at a higher room rate.


University Dormitory Housing

The deadline for reserving university housing is June 20, 2007.

If you wish to stay in a dormitory room on the University of Illinois campus, your room reservation must be handled through the U of I Office of Continuing Education. Sherman Hall is the conference dormitory.

Sherman Hall is located at 909 S. Fifth Street in Champaign, on the west side of campus. It consists of one high-rise building and one low-rise building joined by a common lobby, with mostly single rooms and a few doubles (10). The double rate is $25.65 per person per night. The single rate is $39.45 per night.

The beds are extra long twins. A micro-fridge (a small microwave and refrigerator combination) is provided in all Sherman Hall rooms. Semi-private (shared) bathrooms are adjacent to each room. Guests share a bath with one or two other people.

Please indicate your room/roommate preferences on the registration form. Also, please include your total housing payment with your registration fee. Dorm housing fees must be paid prior to arrival at the conference. Also, double rooms assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Stochastics participants needing parking while residing during the conference in the University residence hall must purchase a parking permit at the front desk of the residence hall at the time of check-in. Current parking permit rate is $9/day. This rate is subject to change.

SPECIAL NOTE: Dormitory rooms are only available until Friday, August 10. Check-out is noon on August 10. All dormitories official close on August 10 in order for the University housing staff to have time to prepare for the fall semester. Only utilize this housing option if you plan to leave the conference prior to Saturday, August 11 or if you have other housing arrangements for the night of August 10.
