Mathematics Major
Continuing students seeking to change to the Mathematics curriculum should
consult the director of undergraduate studies:
Generally speaking a student transferring into Mathematics should have completed,
or be able to complete, the calculus and at least one advanced mathematics
course with a 2.5 average by the end of the sophomore year. Lower grades
would indicate that the student would have difficulty in completing the
advanced coursework successfully. The Teacher Education Option in Mathematics
has specific requirements described below.
Mathematics Minor
Students wishing to complete a Mathematics Minor should obtain a form for
declaring Intent to Complete a Minor from their college office, have it
signed by the undergraduate mathematics adviser:
and then return the form to their college office.
Actuarial Science
Continuing students seeking to change to the Actuarial Science curriculum

Teacher Education in Mathematics

Admission to all Teacher Education programs is by application once a year.
Students may apply in their sophomore year. Applications are available from
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 270 Lincoln Hall. They should
be submitted by February 1 for admission the following fall. Students are
expected to have completed The Calculus and one advanced mathematics course

entering the program the following fall, the student should have completed
two additional advanced mathematics courses, Ed Psych 211 and EPS 201, and
to have maintained grades of at least 2.5 in mathematics courses and 2.5
