The intention of Math 600 (formerly Math 500) is to serve as an "advanced version of Math 499," providing a forum for advanced graduate students and postdoctoral associates to deliver seminar talks geared toward an audience consisting of graduate students who are at an earlier stage of their research. Explicitly, the lectures should "give a broad picture of the research interests of the speaker, a sketch of the area that they are most interested in studying, and a compressed version of what the future holds for their field."
