On
campus dining
Breakfast - there are really only two places on campus where you can get
a full breakfast early in the morning:
- IHOP (northwest corner of Green and 4th)
- Panera Bread (northwest corner of John and
6th)
Lunch / Dinner
- ZA's (south side of Green between Wright and
6th) - pizza, pasta, and sandwiches.
- Legends (on north side of Green between 6th
and 5th) – sandwiches
- Jerusalem Restaurant (south-west corner of
Wright and Healey)
- Illini Union Foodcourt (basement in Illini Union)
- Bobo China (north side of Green between 5th
and 4th)
- Panera Bread (north-west corner of John and
6th)
- Bread Company (south-east corner of Goodwin
and Oregon)
- Cafe Luna (south-west corner of Green and
4th) - open only for lunch
Off

Green between Wright and 6th)
- Moonstruck Chocolate Bar (On Wright
Street across from Altgeld Hall)
- Expresso Royale has 2 locations near campus
- Goodwin and Oregon
- 6th and Daniel
- Cafe Kopi (N. Walnut) this is a very
nice off campus cafe in downtown Champaign
Bars
and Pubs
- Legends (on north side of Green between 6th
and 5th)
- Most of the on campus bars are noisy and full
of undergrads, especially when the university is in session; so be warned.
- Boltini (on Neil in downtown Champaign)
- Esquire (on University at Walnut in downtown
Champaign)
Parking
- University parking garages (south-west
corner of 6th and John and north-east corner of 5th and Daniel) - this
is reserved parking but the top level has meters open to the public all
day; also the whole garage is open to the public after 5pm and on
weekends.
- Public parking lot (on Green Street between
5th and 6th Streets – enter from Green or Healey Streets)
$0.75/first 2 hours; $1.50/additional hours; $12 maximum
- Parking meters can be found all over campustown
(long-term meters are located on Daniel and Fourth Streets; most other
meters have a 2 hour limit). For $6 one can buy a Daily Meter Use Permit
(http://www.parking.uiuc.edu/tscratch.html)
Internet
access
- Altgeld Hall - the computer lab in room 108 in
the basement of Altgeld Hall will be accessible to participants of the
conference. There are 15+ Windows PCs. They have various applications
installed; you will be able to browse the internet and use ssh clients. NO
LOGIN REQUIRED.
- Math Library - the mathematics
library in Altgeld Hall will be open 8:30--5:00 on May 28-30,
1:00--5:00 on May 31 and closed on June 1. Visitors may use the library
collection and resources in the library but won't be able to check
anything out. This is one of the finest mathematics libraries in the
world. There are 7+ Windows PCs in the library connected to the internet.
- If you have your own computer with you there
are some other options to access the internet on campus:
- Green Street Coffee
House (north side of Green between Wright and 6th) provides free
ethernet and wireless internet connections to its customers.
- Expresso Royale (corner
of 6th and Daniels) provides free wireless connection to the net.
- Za's (south side of
Green between Wright and 6th) provides free wireless connection to
the net.
- Evo Internet Cafe (on east side of 6th
between Green & John) - we've never used it so comments are
welcome.
