UIUC Thesis style files for TeX

The uiucthesis package: This is a set of documentclass and style files, created by students in the UIUC Physics Department, to produce theses that conform to the format requirements of the UIUC Graduate College. The principal components are two documentclass files, uiucthesis.cls and uiucthesis07.cls. The latter is an updated version to accommodate a small change in the requirements that took effect in 2007, and it's the one that one should normally use.

Documentation: The uiucthesis package is well documented in a 25 page manual and a sample thesis file, which can be viewed (and printed) with the commands "texdoc uiucthesis" and "texdoc thesis-ex". The 2007 update is documented in a very short page "uiucthesis07Documentation" (which, as usual, can be accessed with the "texdoc" command).

On u00, the class and style files, and the documentation, reside in the directory /usr/local/encap/teTeXlocal/share/texmf.local/tex/latex/uiucthesis. (Normally you don't have to access these files directly - tex will find them.)

Note: You must be on the Sun/Solaris side of our network in order to access these files, or to compile a tex document using these files. The files are not accessible from the linux lab machines (e.g., ah130-xx); if you are on a linux box, ssh into u00 and compile the files on u00.

UIUC Physics page for uiucthesis package. This is the main depository for the uiucthesis files. The files on our system have been copied over from this site. If you want to use the uiucthesis package outside our network (e.g., on a laptop or on a home computer), you should download the files directly from this site.
