To Do
The following is an unstructured as well as incomplete list of
things to do.
- Plot Fourier amplitudes C_n on a log-log scale (i.e., plot
log(C_n) against log(n)).
- Implement some sort of help feature for the GUI modules.
- In the homework projects, clearly mark Unix hints and
Illinois-specific technicalities to separate them from the mathematical
content.
- Create a link to a page for students who want to learn more
about using computer packages for differential equations. This page
should give basic information about the capabilities of, and links
to, Mathematica, Maple, and Matlab (both symbolic and numerical
capabilities).
- Create project(s) on 2x2 autonomous systems of ODEs.
- Add features to the Phase Planes module, e.g., computing equilibrium
points, plotting Liapunov functions, etc.
- Assess whether to add the heat and wave equations on the whole
real line to the PDE modules of Iode.
- Assess whether to recast the manuals in
MathML.
- Add a feature to pdegui.m that allows users to plot arbitrary
functions on top of slices/snapshots.
- Find an easy way to treat sine and cosine series, in the Fourier
series module.
- Find a way to treat nonhomogeneous heat and wave equations, on an
interval.
