  • Feb 4: The purpose of this announcement is to resolve a few issues concerning homework grading so that they do not reoccur in the future. Your solutions to graded homeworks are to be written on stapled loose leaf paper. Points will be deducted if your homework is not stapled or is written on notebook paper that has rough edges. The graders for the course will be instructed not to grade any work that is written on a printout of the problem sheet. This is because, most often, any work written on the problem sheet is your scratch work and you didn't intend for it to be graded anyway. To ensure that you receive full credit for your work, please make sure to write any work you want graded on a separate sheet of paper. Also, detailed conclusions are necessary to fully convey that you understand a problem. Please be sure to provide enough information in your conclusions so that anyone involved in the course would understand. Using complete sentences in your conclusions is a good way of ensuring that you have done this. Lastly, as always, you must show your work to receive full credit. If you have any further questions, please email Tim (tlesaul2).
  • Feb 3: Homework 1 is graded out of 16 points. Students that turned in the syllabus homework will receive an additional 4 points for a total of 20 points possible.

  • Jan 29: Professor Muncaster's lecture presentation files from chapter 1 are posted on Compass in pdf format. Future presentation files will be posted section by section. Printing of these files is purposely disabled.
  • Jan 29: In addition to TI-83, TI-83+ and TI-84 calculators, you will be allowed to use TI-84+ calculators on exams as well.
  • Jan 27: Late syllabus homeworks may be turned in at office hours at 1PM in Altgeld Hall, room 108, on Thursday, January 28th, or placed in Tim's mailbox in Altgeld Hall, room 250, before 2PM the same day. No late homework will be accepted after this.
