All applications will be reviewed by the Board of Directors. Quick funding decisions may be made on requests not exceeding $500.00.

Applicants requesting over $500.00 whose project the Board judges to be of sufficient interest will be invited to submit a more detailed funding proposal. This second application, which also should be submitted electronically, must, where applicable, contain the following information.

Personal Data

• Name, Position, and Address of applicant
• Employment record over the last three years
• List of up to three refereed publications most relevant to the application
• Grants and contracts currently held and applied for
• Number of graduate students supervised (and degrees awarded) over the past three years
• Major awards

Proposal

• A short summary of the proposal
• A detailed budget, including explanations of line items, description of cost sharing (where appropriate) and additional sources of funding
• A detailed description of the project, which, according to the nature of the request, should include the following information

For Research Project Support

• Progress of research activities related to the proposal
• Objectives, both short and long term
• Methods and proposed approach
• Anticipated significance of the work

For Equipment Support

• Current configuration of available equipment
• Applicant's present use of equipment
• How the new equipment will integrate into the current configuration
• Mathematical need for the equipment

For Conference Support

• Theme of conference
• Length of conference
• Estimated number of attendees
• Invited speakers, indicating those who have committed to attend
• Details on other sources of support sought
• List of recent conferences having related themes

For Travel Support

• Destination
• Purpose of the travel
