The airport for Champaign and Urbana is
Willard Airport (airport code CMI) and is served by
American Airlines and
The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit
District has regular AirBus service from the airport to
the Illini Union.
The Illini Limo

They have a small stand next to the baggage claim; check in with them
after landing. The fare is $13 one way to any location on campus.
It is also possible to fly to Chicago's
O'Hare Airport (ORD) or
Midway Airport (MDW) and renting a car or taking other ground
transportation to Urbana. Driving takes about 2.5 hours.
The Lincolnland Express
(LeX) takes about three hours (one way) and costs approximately $50. Upon
arrival in Champaign-Urbana, the shuttle stops at the Illinois
Bus/Train Terminal and at the Illini Union. (Warning! The LEx shuttle
can be extremely unreliable.)
Another alternative is to take
Chicago transit downtown to Union Station and take
Amtrak to Champaign.
(Warning! There are only two daily Amtrak trains between Chicago and
Champaign.) Local buses regularly
go from the Champaign train
station to campus.
More convenient and possible cheaper than O'Hare is the
Indianapolis airport (IND)
Illinois Regional in Bloomington
and renting a car. The Indianapolis airport is a 2-hour drive along
interstate I-74 from Urbana.
Lincolnland Express also has shuttles; the price is about $100. Central
Illinois Regional is about a 1-hour drive on I-74 from Urbana.
The conference will be held in the math department in

The best option during the week is to purchase
to park in the Hendrick House lot, near the corner of Green and Gregory,
due east of Altgeld and an 8-10 minute walk. Permits are $4 per day
and can be purchased at the front desk at Hendrick House (note this is
not a University lot). These are available to everyone, not just those
staying at Hendrick House.
On the weekend, there are University lots in which you can park for free,
but make sure the lot states that there is unrestricted weekend parking.
Avoid spaces which are reserved 7 days/weekk,24-hours/day (these will
posted signs). Some close available lots are D6 and D1 at the corner of
Goodwin and Illinois (5 minute walk east), and A9 at the corner of
6th and Healey (3 minute walk northwest).

Schedule of talks
Schedule of talks.
- Tuesday evening, May 15. Reception in Altgeld Hall.
Light refreshments will be served (not a dinner).
- Wednesday evening, May 16. Showing of the film "All my loved ones"
in 314 Altgeld Hall. It is about a family growing up in
Czechoslovakia in the late 1930's that is persuaded by an English
stockbroker to send their son to be raised in England as the Nazi's
begin to take control of Czechoslovakia. The story is based on the
true story of an English stockbroker named Nicholas Winton who saved
669 Czech Jewish children in this way. In the ending credits, there is
a list of the children saved, and if you look hard enough, you can see the
name "Halberstam, H." who was one of these children.
- Saturday evening, May 19.
Temperatures in Urbana in May average 75-80 during the day and in the 50s
at night, but it is not unusual for the temperatures to be 10-15 degrees
hotter or colder. Rainfall averages about 4 inches for the month.
