Exam 3 grading: The median score on exam 3 is 71.5. If this were the only grade of the semester, it would be curved upward. However, it is not the only grade of the semester, and the final exam is worth 30% of the course grade. Any curve for the class will be applied only after the final exam and the online homework scores have been entered.

For your reference, here are the numbers of students in the class whose current course averages are in each range (there are 51 students in the class).

Exam 2 grading: The mean and median are both 79. Below are the grade ranges, with the number of students in each range, and the approximate letter grade which would correspond to each range if it were necessary to assign a letter grade for this exam. Keep in mind that your final course grade will be determined by your final course average.

Midterm grades: I have submitted midterm grades as required by the registrar. The letter grade which I submitted is based only on your first two exam scores. I did not assign plus or minus grades. These grades give a rough idea of your position in the class. If you have any questions, please ask me.

Exam 1 grading: The mean and median are both about 84 out of 100. After the Exam 0 grades were revised, the new median and mean for that exam are also very close to 84. At this point there will be no curve on the exams. Here are the numbers of scores in each range for exam 1 (there are 52 total students).

Exam 0 grading policy: The median and mean on Exam 0 were both 36 (out of 50). As announced in class, if your Exam 1 average is higher than your Exam 0 average then your Exam 1 average will replace your Exam 0 average.

WebAssign: This will be provided free to you. Do not pay for access.
