Differential Equations and boundary value problems, 4th Ed., 2008, Pearson Education. We will cover most of chapters 1, 2, 3, and 9, and part of chapter 10.
- Midterm 1: Feb. 20, in class. Material covered: chapter 1 and sections 2.1-2.3, and 3.1-3.3. A practice test can be found here. A solution can be found here. No calculators, computers, handheld devices, books, or notes.
- Midterm 2: March 26, in class. Material covered: chapter 3 (excluding 3.7), sections 9.1-9.3 and everything covered on the first midterm. A practice test can be found here. A solution can be found here. No calculators, computers, handheld devices, books, or notes.
- Midterm 3: April 23, in class. Material covered: chapter 9, section 10.1 and everything covered on the first two midterms. A practice test can be found here. A very short solution can be found here. No calculators, computers, handheld devices, books, or notes. Bring a photo ID!
- Final exam: 8:00-11:00 am, Saturday, May 3. Location: in class. Material covered: Everything covered in class. See the daily reading guide for a partial summary. If in doubt, please ask me. - Online grades: you can check your grades for the graded homework and the tests here. Click on "Score Reports", you will be asked for your netid and password. Please check them for accuracy and report to me immediately any discrepancy with the scores you have on your homework or test. The column called final indicates the score you received on the final exam. You now have all the info you need to calculate your total score for the course following the grading policy explained in the syllabus. Letter grades are assigned on a 10 point scale, so that a score of 100-90 corresponds to an A, 89.99-80 to a B, and so on.
