Applied Linear Algebra, 2006, Prentice-Hall. We will cover most of Chapters 1 to 9.
- Midterm 1: Feb. 15, in class, at regular class time. Material covered: Chapters 1 and 2. A practice test can be found here. A solution can be found here. No calculators, computers, handheld devices, books, or notes.
- Midterm 2: March 28, in class, at regular class time. Material covered: Chapters 3, 4, and 5 (excluding the Cholesky factorization, sections 3.3, 3.6, 5.4, and 5.7. Include only first subsection of 4.4), and everything covered for the first midterm. A practice test can be found here. A solution can be found here. - Midterm 3: April 21, in class, at regular class time. Material covered: Sections 6.2, 7.1-7.2, 8.1-8.4, and everything covered for the first two midterms. A practice test can be found here. - Online grades: you can check your grades for the graded homework and the tests here. Click on "Score Reports", you will be asked for your netid and password. Please check them for accuracy and report to me immediately any discrepancy with the scores you have on your homework or test. The column called final indicates the score you received on the final exam. You now have all the info you need to calculate your total score for the course following the grading policy explained in the syllabus. Letter grades are assigned on a 10 point scale, so that a score of 100-90 corresponds to an A, 89.99-80 to a B, and so on.
