homework (25%), a midterm exam (30% each) and a final (45%) (Please
do NOT request an alteration for
yourself in these percentages). No make-up exams. After the first
couple of weeks of the classes, you will be able to view your
homework and exam scores online. To do that go to the math homepage,
select courses and select score reports. You will be prompted to log
in. The final grades will be assigned according to the scale: Homework assignments: There will be weekly homework assignments. The worst two homework grades will be dropped. The homework assignments will be posted on the course webpage. Absolutely no late homework. You are encouraged to discuss the homework problems with each other but should write the solutions by yourself in your own words. Exams:
The
midterm will be a 2 hours evening exam, we will determine the time
and date in the class. For these 2 hours, I will cancel 2 classes
(not necessarily in the week of the exam). The final is on
Wednesday,
May 9 between 7:00–10:00 PM. Please bring your university ID
to all exams. Attendance: Class participation is compulsory. Although I won’t take attendance I will know whether you are attending the class. I suggest you inform me before the class if you are going to miss it. Finally, please no texting (or any similar activity) during the lectures. |
