We will begin by following Gelbart's article from Bull. AMS 10 (1984), no. 2, 177--219. Other useful introductory articles include Ram Murty's article from the volume "Advances in number theory" (Kingston, ON 1991) and Knapp's article from Proc. Sympos. Pure Math. 61. The book by Daniel Bump on "Automorphic forms and representations" (Cambridge Studies in Advanced Math, 55) is also a useful reference.

Some of us may attend the PÉRIODE DE CONCENTRATION SUR LE PROGRAMME DE LANGLANDS POUR LES CORPS DE FONCTION at CRM (Montreal). Also, some may attend the IAS/PCMI Graduate Summer School on Automorphic Forms and Applications. There is also the 16th annual workshop on automorphic forms and related topics.
