8/26/08: There will be no class on Tuesday September 2 or Thursday September 4. (We will make up the time by scheduling the midterms out of the regular class times, probably on Tuesday evenings)

9/18/08: A new section (Gallery) has been added for computer generated pictures of curves and surfaces. Thanks to Nana Arizumi for the first two pictures!

9/22/08: A new picture has been added to the Gallery.

9/26/08: The first midterm will be on Wednesday October 8, 6pm-7:30pm (venue to be announced). See here for more information.

10/1/08: Some solutions have been posted (see here). I'll add some more soon (I hope!)

10/4/08: 1. More solutions posted.
2. I meant to return your homework 3 to you in class last Thursday, I had them with me, but forgot to do it. You can collect them from my office on Monday afternoon (I should be there by 4pm) if you want them before class on Tuesday.
3. I haven't posted any new homework yet. Use the time to study for the midterm!

Your grade for the course will be determined by a weighted average of your scores for homework, 2 midterms, and a final exam. The weights of each will be:

Exams

There will be two midterms and a final exam. Dates and syllabi will be announced at least one week in advance.

The (tentative) dates for the midterms are Thursday October 2 and Thursday November 6.
