About me
I am born, and still live, in the city of Kaohsiung, the second largest city, and the main harbor of the Republic of Taiwan (yes I am a strong supporter of Taiwanese Independence Movement).
However, I have spent quite some time in USA, mainly in Los Angeles, where I got my BA and MA from UCLA. This is my fifth year in UIUC Math department.
My research interests lie on differential geometry and mathematical physics. In particular, I am interested in the geometry of moduli space of vortices, the solutions of a set of PDE's on holomorphic line bundles over Riemann surfaces characterizing stationary points of some energy functional. These equations are known as "vortex equations", a beefed up version of "Hermitian-Einstein equations" in geometry, and "Yang-Mill equations" in physics.
Beside math, I passionately love to watch and play baseball. I love to play catcher, although not as swiftly as my teenage years anymore. I am also a loyal fan of the great Los Angeles Dodgers, the almighty blue in SoCal. Consequentially, I am disgusted by San Francisco Giants, a team run by steroid, and Disney Angels of Anaheim, a team not even in LA county but refer itself as "LA Angels".

Research
This is my research statement. This is a fascinating topic covering wide range of mathematical fields.
Differential geometry and analysis are the heart of the content, but substantial topology and algebra is relevant, too. Feel free to discuss it with me.
