Exam
1
Exam 1 will be
held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009. It will cover materials up to, and including,
lecture of Monday, June 29, 2009. There will be 5 regular problems (no multiple
choice), and 1 extra credit problem. I will assign one regular problem to each
of the following topics: integration by
parts, trigonometric techniques, partial fractions, improper integrals, and
sequences.
Problems might
have different point distribution, but the total will be 100. Exam time will be
50 minutes. If majority people need more time, I will extend a maximum of 10
minutes. Difficulty of problems will range from easy to difficult, so it is
recommended to do easy problems first.
No calculator
will be allowed (they won’t help anyway). Please do not wear hat or sunglasses.
Please also turn off ALL your communication devices (cell phone, pager, … etc).
Repeated violations will result in deduction in your exam score.
Hopefully very
little memorization will be needed. Here is a list
of “formula” you are supposed to know. You are also supposed to be able to
apply all comparison skills presented during class. Be sure to be able to do
ALL problems from HW1 to HW2, graded or optional. These are all “practice
midterm” problems.
