My name is
Chih-Chung Liu (in traditional Chinese: 劉之中). I am born,
and still live, in the city of Kaohsiung, the second
largest city of Republic of Taiwan. However, I have spent quite some time in
USA, mainly in Los Angeles, where I got my BA and MA from UCLA. This is my
fourth year in UIUC Math department. My research topics lie
on differential geometry of complex vector bundles. In particular, I am
interested in the geometry of moduli space of vortices, and its symplectic
structures.
Beside math, I
also love to watch and play baseball. I am a fan of Los Angeles Dodgers in MLB, and 7-11 Lions in Taiwan. I also led a
group of Taiwanese students in UIUC for weekend baseball practice. We eagerly
look for teams for recreational baseball games.
I am also a
strong supporter for independence
of Taiwan.
