Midterm 1: February 19, in class. Counts for 15% of your grade.

Midterm 2: April 1, in class. Counts for 15% of your grade.

Final Exam: Counts for 40% of your grade:

Test Policies: No books, notes, calculators or computers allowed. Make up tests will be given only if you present written evidence, as soon as possible, that you did (or will have to) miss an exam for a legitimate reason, e.g. illness or family emergency. Travel and leisure plans are never a legitimate reason.

Syllabus: Linear systems of equations and applications, matrices, operations with matrices, determinants and their properties, vector spaces associated with a matrix, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, least square approximations. Click here for more details.

Homework: Assignments will be given weekly. Count for 20% of your grade. Solutions should be written up independently and turned in by the deadline for each assignment. Check back this page for actual assignments and deadlines. Solutions are posted, if necessary, after the due date, at TBA. Late homework will not be accepted but only your ten best scores will count towards your final grade.

Quizzes: There will be a 10 - 15 minutes quiz about every two weeks. Count for 10% of your grade. You may not use books, notes, calculators or computers. Each quiz will be announced in advance (check this page for updates). Make up quizzes will not be given but your lowest two quiz scores will be dropped.
