General Policies:

Quiz: Except for the first week, there will be a quiz given once a week in which there is not an hour exam. The quizzes will be given during last 15-20 minutes of the Thursday discussion sections. The lowest quiz will be dropped when calculating a semester grade. If you miss a quiz, that will be the one dropped for you.

Homework: Problems will be assigned and posted on the course webpage on a weekly basis. The problems are for practice and will not be collected. It should help studying for quizzes and exams.
- Calculators are not permitted on quizzes or exams.
- Midterm Exams: There will be 3 hour exams, given during the regular class hour. The exam dates will be announced at least a week before when they are given.
- Missed Hour Exams/ Quizzes: A missed exam/quiz will give 0 point unless you have a valid and verifiable excuse (a note from the Emergency Dean is required). In this case, you must inform me/discussion T.A. before the exam/quiz, or if this is physically impossible, then it should be done as soon as possible afterwards.
- All pagers and Cell phones should be turned off before entering class.
- Academic Integrity: Any student found cheating on an exam or a quiz will receive a grade of 0 for that exam/quiz.

- Quiz-15%(The lowest score will be dropped)
- Maximum cutoffs for letter grades will be traditional 90%, 80%, etc with plus and minus.
