Quiz : Quiz is given during the discuss session on Thursday and will be returned on following Tuesday. The lowest quiz score will be dropped in the end. If you do not take a quiz, then it will be counted as zero. No makeup quiz will be given unless you have a proper excuse.

Homework: Homework will be assigned but will not be collected.

Final: There will be three 50-minute exams. The final exam is cumulative. Final exams will not be returned to students. They will be stored in instructor's office for a year.

Partial Credit : For all the quiz and exam problems you are supposed to write down the right answers together with sufficient work to justify your answers. Partial credits will be given to only sufficiently close work. Right answers without justifying work might not get any credit.

Makeup exam and quiz: No makeup quiz/exam will be given other than special circumstances such as school athletic activities, sickness or family emergency. In any case you will have to provide very detailed written proof of your case and I will check them very carefully to decide the validity of the case. Late wake-up,  attending a wedding or other person's emergency will not be a proper excuse.

If you miss a quiz with a legitimate, documentable excuse, get in touch with your TA.

If you miss an exam and have appropriate documentation, get in touch with me as soon as possible.

Calculators: You are allowed to use graphics calculators when you do homework. However, in quizzes,exams and final you are NOT allowed to use them.

Cheating: The mathematics department will not tolerate cheating of any sort. All cheating cases will be handled by Office of the Dean of Students. All the exams and 20% of the quizzes, chosen randomly, will be photocopied before they are returned to students to prevent after-work cheating.
