Math 285 G8 -- Current scores, also Homework #4

I won't have the Hour Exam graded today, but in order to give you some 
idea of how you're doing in the course I've posted scores for the two
graded homeworks and for Quiz #1.

These scores are available through the "campus gradebook" system.
There is a webpage for the system at

There are two ways to access your scores.  You can either visit the
web page above and follow the appropriate links, but better is to run
the "gradebook" program installed on most lab computers (both Macs and 
PCs).  You can also download the gradebook program for use on your
home PC/whatever.  The advantage of the gradebook program is that you
can see how you compare with other students, by using the "distrib"
button, and with the "show percentile curve" after you've chosen
"distrib" option.  Although I've tried to use care in entering scores, 
you should check what's listed against your own records, and report
any problems to me.

I'm still not sure I'll stick with campus gradebook, but I'll try to
have some mechanism where you can get essentially the same
information.

For Homework 4, please start with GiveItaTry in Lesson DE.04, problems
G.1 and G.2.  I'll announce a due date, and perhaps further problems,
within the next few days.
