Class summary: Monday, 3/31

I did some examples of probability computations involving two independent random variables X and Y with given distribution: the distribution of the sum of X and Y in the cases when X and Y are both geometric, both Poisson, or if one of X and Y is geometric and the other Poisson. I also computed the distribution of the difference of two independent geometric r.v.'s. I plan to start Section 3.3 (normal approximation) on Wednesday, but this section will not be on Friday's exam.

Because of the exam on Friday, there will be no HW assignment this week.
