MATH 225 sections N2 and P2
General Course Information.
First Homework Assignment (Sections 1.1
and 1.2)
Second Homework Assignment (Sections 1.3
and 1.4)
Third Homework Assignment (Sections 1.5
and 1.6)
Fourth Homework Assignment (Sections 1.9
and 2.1)
Fifth Homework Assignment (Sections 2.2
and 2.3) This assignment is due wednesday, october 3rd. You
can drop it anytime during the day in my mailbox in Altgeld 250, or
bring it to the review session (see below).
First Hour Exam
Both sections will have the first exam on
Thursday, October the
4th, during their corresponding class periods. This exam will
cover all the sections we studied from chapters 1 and 2. The review
session will be held wednesday, October the 3rd at 7 PM in the
Mechanical Engeneering Building, in room
218. For now,
here's a review sheet in PDF format (
requires
Acrobat
Reader) prepared by the author of the book. We skipped some
sections, so some concepts shouldn't look so familiar (like the stuff
about linear transformations)... But it's a
good start. Also, here's a copy
of that practice exam I handed out in class, with the solutions.
Sixth Homework Assignment (Sections
3.1 and 3.2)
Seventh Homework Assignment (Sections
3.3 and 4.1)
Eighth Homework Assignment (Sections
4.2 and first part of 4.3)
Ninth Homework Assignment (Sections
4.3 and 4.5)
Tenth Homework Assignment (Sections
4.6 and 5.1)
Second Hour Exam
Both sections will have their second hour exam on thursday, November
the 15th, during their corresponding class periods. The exam
will cover chapters 3 and 4 (only the sections we actually did in class),
but this doesn't mean that you won't be required to know the material
from previous sections. The review session will take place on
wednesday (11/14) at 6 P.M. in room
245 in Altgeld
Hall.
Eleventh Homework Assignment (Sections
5.2, 5.3 and 6.1)
Suggested Problems for sections 6.2 and
6.3
Third Hour Exam
Both sections will have their third and last hour exam on thursday,
December
the 6th, during their corresponding class periods. This exam
will cover sections 5.1 to 5.3 and 6.1 and 6.2. The review session will
be wednesday, December the 5th, at 6 P.M. in Everitt Lab,
in room
165. Meanwhile, here's a
review sheet that might be useful, and a
practice exam with solutions. Remember that we didn't
cover exactly the same material this review covers... You should be
able to solve problems 2 (this material was covered in last exam, so
it won't appear on this exam), 3a, 4, 5 and 6.
Final Exam
The final exam is scheduled for Thursday, December the 13th,
from 8 to 11 AM
for section N2, and Wednesday, December 12th, from 1:30 to 4:30 for
section P2,
in our usual classrooms: Altgeld
141 for section N2, and
Altgeld
447 for section P2. As it was mentioned
at the beginning of the term, this date is unchangeable. If you have any
conflict, please let me know ASAP. Only a dean in your college can
excuse you from this exam. It will cover all the sections we saw in
class. There is a review session on tuesday, december the 11th,
in room 245 in Altgeld Hall. I will be answering as many questions as
possible, and handing out copies of this practice final exam, with the solutions, and a review sheet.
