In May 2005, I finished my master's degree at the University of Colorado at Denver. In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree, I wrote my master's thesis on the Kronecker-Weber theorem. My advisor was Stan Payne, who's primary research is in generalized quadrangles, an area in finite geometry. He does number theory for a hobby. The other members of my advisory committe were Bill Cherowitzo and Rich Lundgren.
