Announcements

Grades:  You may now check your grades in this class via the Department of Mathematics gradebook program.  Go to  http://www.math.uiuc.edu/Classes  and click on "Score Reports".  You will be asked to enter your UIUC netid and password.

Putnam Exam:   Open to all undergraduate students.  For more information, see  http://www.math.uiuc.edu/contests.html  or contact Prof. H.G. Diamond or Prof. A.J. Hildebrand in the Department of Mathematics.

Math Club:  Open to anyone interested in math.  Could be fun. See http://new.math.uiuc.edu/mathclub  for more information.

Seminars:  Two seminars that may be of interest to students in this class are "Geometric Potpourri", which meets 3:00 Tuesdays in 241 Altgeld, and "Math 400", which meets 4:00 Tuesdays in 245 Altgeld.  Geometric Potpourri is a rather informal seminar and many of the talks are at a level that is at least partly accessible to undergraduates.  Although Math 400 has a course number, it is done in a seminar format and anyone is welcome to attend.  Details about these and other seminars are available on the Math Department webpage.

"Color Math Pink" seeks female college students to volunteer as cyber-tutors.  See  http://www.colormathpink.com  for more information.

Here's a really strange but possibly fun math contest you can enter:  Maths Quiz 2000, http://www.mq2000.org
