Math 220, Section E, Fall 2005

Announcements (Dec 14, 2005):

Here is the list of questions that we will cover in the review session tonight (and again on Thursday). Note that this is *not* an exhaustive list, but it does indicate the level of difficulty you should be aiming for. For instance, it doesnt have any "find the derivative" or "find the integral" questions; you should do (and check) at least 20 each of those to practice.

2.3 21, 72, 3.1 15, 3.7 79, 3.9 38, 3.10 26, 4.2 41, 4.6 69, 5.4 45, 6.5 13, 6,2 54, 3.5 45

I've finally gotten all the grade sheets from the TAs, and now I can start sending out emails about how folks are doing -- sorry for the delay. You can get a rough estimate by averaging the percentages for your 4 midterms (A: 84-100, B: 67-84, C: 52-67, D: 35-52). The average score on the PHGA work is 85%. If yours is much higher or lower than 85%, it will pull your grade up or down. I do not yet have the quiz/hwk numbers averaged.

Announcements (Dec 12, 2005):

The review sessions have been MOVED to Wed 4:30 to 6:30 (314 Altgeld) and Thu 4:30-6:30 (245 Altgeld) because of lack of large rooms in the evening.

Here is the review handout from class Friday. There will be at least one question from each of the 12 topics, and at least 1/4 of the exam will consist of "find the derivative" and "find the integral" type questions. I suggest doing (and checking) one hard problem from each section listed (eg, from the middle of the book's list of problems) to test yourself.

My office hours will be from 2-4 on Wednesday and Thursday. We will start in 247 Illini, and if necessary, move to a room in the basement of Illini.
(I'll leave a note on the door saying where).

In addition, Bin has office hours Thu 1-3 in 341 Illini and Melissa has office hours 11-12 and 1-2 on Wed and Thu in Coble basement. Anyone may go to them.

The final exam is on Friday, December 16th, from 7-10pm.
It covers material up through 6.8, except for 6.3 and 6.4 and now 6.6.
Go to 100 MSEB if you are Ida's or Bin's sections.
Go to 112 Chem Annex if you are Florin's, Hong's, or Melissa's sections. Bring a warm hat or sweatshirt; I've been told the room is cold.

A 43 to 50
