Wednesday, April 8: Projects
Remember to work on your projects! This Monday is the deadline for your paper if you want to be guaranteed to receive it back in time to revise and resubmit it for the final project deadline of April 27. You may turn in whatever you have for this Monday; it doesn't have to be complete, and it doesn't have to be typed. If you have any questions, now's the time to get them answered! (And now is definitely the time to get settled on a project and to be working on it! And please don't shy away from the projects dealing with parametric or polar curves. They're neat! Project #1, which will be posted by this weekend, will also deal somewhat with these curves.)

Online assignments

To access the online homework,
log in to our section at MathZone. Assignments are due at 11 PM Central time.

Reading assignments

Reading assignments count as the "preparation" portion of each day's Math 199 points. The assignments will usually consist of a few pages in your text to be read in detail before next class (this takes the place of going to a lecture). Each reading assignment will give you a beginning problem or two from the section to solve. What you'll turn in at the beginning of class is a (half-)sheet of paper on which you've written (1) your solution to the book problem, and (2) at least one question that occurs to you on the subject you read about. (If no question did occur to you, feel free to get creative. This will get easier as the semester goes along.) If you have trouble answering the book problem, please contact a classmate for help or talk to me by email or in office hours before class.

For additional practice and study, check out the materials under the "Self Study" tab at MathZone. (If for any reason you run into technical problems, you can call tech support at 1-800-331-5094.)
