Syllabus:  Concerning the subjects we will follow Roydon's book

 1) Set Theory
 2) Topology oin the set of real numbers
 3) Lebesque Measure
 4) Integration
 5) Classical Banach spaces
 6) Whatever time permits

Warning:  Roydon's text is wonderful smooth. However, the interesting and difficult things are hidden in the exercises. The content of the main text is not enough to pass the comprehensive or for an appropriate understanding of the material.
 

Announcement:   We will form  exercise groups of approxiamtely 3-4 stundents. Every group will have to discuss
a couple of  problem among themselves, with me and post a final solution. This will part of the grading. I urge you to use these groups for your weakly homework as well.  We will also have weekly exercises (worth 1/3 of the grade), midterms and the final (each 1/3).
