Mathematics Department Espresso Machine
Thanks to the generosity of members of the department, we now have
a Lavazza Blue
LB-2210 espresso machine in the common room.
The machine uses single-serving espresso capsules (these are clean,
convenient, provide reasonably good espresso, and make the machine
harder to break). PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MACHINE TAKES ONLY LAVAZZA BLUE
CAPSULES.
If you are a regular espresso drinker, I strongly recommend that you
buy these in bulk yourself. One on-line source is
Espresso
Zone.
I also intend to buy cases and periodically make the capsules available in
the common room at
tea time. If/as this becomes more regular, I'll post
information here.
You could also come to my office (357 Altgeld) during other times
if you want to get some
capsules from me. I hope that other regular espresso drinkers in the
department will offer this option too: please email me if you're willing to
act as a "capsule source" for others.
If the machine tells you that it needs water, or that its trash bin needs to
be emptied, please do that yourself if you know how. [It's not too hard to
figure out.] Please DON'T attempt any other service or maintenance yourself:
instead, contact me (Tom Nevins), 357 Altgeld, tel. 265-6762, email
nevins AT illinois etc. [I have the benefit of having a copy of the manual,
if nothing else.]
If you have other questions, please send me an email.
