We develop a geometric mechanism that produces the correspondence between meromorphic KP solutions
and the Calogero-Moser integrable system discovered by Airault-McKean-Moser, Krichever, and the Chudnovskys.
This mechanism, which proceeds from an interpretation of meromorphic KP solutions as "framed D-bundles,"
extends the known correspondence to the collisions in all cases (thereby extending results of
G. Wilson, Invent. Math. 1998), as well as proving correspondences between
multicomponent KP and spin Calogero-Moser systems.
