We are hosting a pre-AMS-meeting mini-conference consisting of four one-hour talks on Friday, November 3. The Friday speakers will be Danny Calegari, Andrew Casson, Nathan Dunfield, and David Gabai. Confirmed speakers at the special session include Adams, Charney, Cooper, Dehornoy, Long, Meyerhoff, Lui, Minsky, Petronio, Prztycki, Repovs, Reid, Scharleman, Thompson. We plan a reception at Barnard College and group dinner at a nearby restaurant on Friday evening. There will also be special sessions on Combinatorial Group Theory, Kleinian Groups, Hyperplane arrangements, and others. We have very limited space remaining in the session and are accepting proposals for 20 minute talks, but we cannot promise to accomodate all requests.
