Announcements:

Review session: Thursday, Dec. 9, 1-2, Altgeld 145.

The comprehensive final exam will be given on Tuesday, December 14, 7 - 10 PM, in our usual classroom. In preparation for the test, please take a look at the suggested practice problems. In addition, please review the quizzes, homeworks, midterms, and practice problems for them.
We will have a review for the final on December 6 and 8 (Monday and Wednesday - the last two lectures of the semester).
Update (Dec. 6): the solutions to selected practice problems have been posted. Dec. 8: solutions to more problems added.
Update 2: the answer key for the final is now available.

Midterm 3 will be given on Friday, Dec. 3.
The test will cover Sections 9.3-4, 10.1-4, and 11.1-2. In preparation for the exam, please try to work on these suggested practice problems, and their the solutions. In addition, review homeworks and quizzes. At least one of the problems will come more or less directly from Homework 9 or 10, one - from this list of practice problems, and one (in a modified form) - from Quiz 9 or 10. The in-class review for the exam will be given on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Update 2: the answer key for the midterm has been posted.

Midterm 2 will be given on Friday, Oct. 29.
The test will cover Sections 2.5, 3.1-5, and 9.1-2. In preparation for the exam, please try to work on these suggested practice problems, and their the solutions. In addition, review homeworks and quizzes. At least one of the problems will come more or less directly from Homework 5, 6, or 7, one -- from this list of practice problems, and one (in a modified form) from Quiz 5, 6, or 7. The in-class review for the exam will be given on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

Midterm 1 will be given on Friday, Oct. 1. The test will cover the material up to and including Section 2.4 (Spanning Trees). I will be reviewing the course material in class on Wednesday, Sep. 29. In preparation for the exam, please look at the homework problems, examples from the textbook, and examples done in class. In addition, a list of suggested practice problems will be posted shortly. In addition, take a look at these suggested practice problems, and their solutions.
Update: the answer key is now available.

Change in the syllabus: due to the large number of people adding the course late, 3 weakest quiz and homework scores (as opposed to 1) will be dropped when the final grade is computed.
