Course Description
This course serves as an introduction to selected areas of mathematics through applications to real-world problems. We will discuss ways of representing a situation using mathematics and understanding the methods that are used to solve these problems. You will learn by doing hands-on examples in class and in the homework. The goal is to develop analytic problem solving skills that you can apply in your everyday life.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Our text is not the same as that for other sections, i.e it is NOT the green COMAP book. If you have such a book, you should return it. The Illini Union bookstore said that our book should be instore in about a week.
