Collected homework at the start of class. Covered more about validity, valid arguments. Different truth-value combinations in valid arguments. Patterns of valid arguments: went over pink rules of inference sheet and filled in with examples.

Wednesday, August 22nd

Handed out the syllabus. Logic : what is an argument, what standard form should look like for an argument, what a "good" argument is, difference between deductive and inductive logic and validity. Emailed out the handout that circulated today. Assigned first homework, due this coming friday.
