  • Homework and Quizzes: 30%
  • First midterm: 17.5%
  • Second midterm: 17.5%
  • Final exam: 35%

Homework:

Homework will be assigned every Friday in class. My current plan is that HW from Hatcher should not be handed in. Instead, each quiz will consist of problems taken directly from these HW. (Please note that the solutions to the problems in Hatcher can all be found on-line.) The quizzes will be on September 12, October 10, November 4, and December 5. I may assign additional problems to be handed in. If so, they will be due the Friday after they are assigned.

Exams:

There will be two one hour tests in class, on Friday, Sept. 26 and Friday, Oct 31. If you have a conflict with either of these dates, please tell me now -- not right before the exam.
