I am a graduate student in Mathematics here at the University of Illinois. My research interests lie in functional analysis, particularly operator algebras and operator spaces. Right now I am looking at how ideas and results from harmonic analysis like the Fourier transform and the Hausdorff-Young inequality extend to locally compact quantum groups. I have also looked at representations of Kac algebras (a particularly nice type of locally compact quantum group) on non-commutative Lp spaces and the properties of operator algebras generated by q-Gaussian operators. My advisor is Professor Zhong-Jin Ruan. Before coming here, I was at University College Cork, National University of Ireland, Cork.
