Reminder. Midterm Exam 1 will take place on Friday February 12 during the regular lecture hour. Come to the room 5 min. in advance so you are ready to start on time. Bring your student ID. (See all Exam Policies below.) The exam will cover all of Chapters 12 and 13 of the textbook (except Kepler's laws). See Midterm Exam 1 Checklist, which includes everything you need to know for the exam. The exam problems will be similar to some of the homework problems. Pay attention to the homework problems not from textbook. Pay attention to graphing problems. Show all your work, present your solutions clearly. No credit will be given for unjustified answers. If there are True/False or multiple choice questions, then they also require full explanation, not just the answers. Try Sample Exam 1. I will post solutions later. The sample only gives you an idea of the length and difficulty of the actual exam, which may substantially differ from the sample. All problems have clean solutions. If your work gets messy, then better stop and check your work. You won't get credit for lengthy wrong calculations. Good luck!
